Cherry Lemonade Freeze

Cherry Lemonade Freeze

Listed as one of the worst beverages in America by the folks at Eat This, Not That, the Wild Cherry Lemonade Mixer from Auntie Anne’s is wildly popular, and with good reason. The taste combination of tart lemon and sweet cherry is undeniably hard to resist. Unfortunately, with 28 teaspoons of sugar in a large drink, it certainly earns its “worst” title. This wonderful variation

Instead of gobs of sugar, this drink serves up an entire serving of fruit and a third of your day’s worth of Vitamin C in every irresistible glass. For a twist, make it with frozen strawberries.

Makes 2 Servings

1 cup frozen dark cherries
1½ cups crushed ice
1/8 teaspoon almond extract

Dare to Compare: A large Wild Cherry Lemonade Mixer at Auntie Anne’s contains 470 calories and 28 teaspoons sugar. Even if you order the smallest size they sell, you’re looking at 2 days’ worth of added sugar.
