Smart Point Comparisons for Eat What You Love Quick & Easy

Hello to all my weight watching friends!

Simply click HERE to automatically download the addendum with SmartPoint™ comparisons for every recipe in Eat What You Love Quick & Easy!

If you are interested in knowing more smart points, I provide the full skinny on the new food tracking system HERE. In nutshell, the four values that are used to calculate  SmartPoint™ are calories, sugar, saturated fat, and protein. Calories, sugar and saturated fat all raise the point value of a food, while protein lowers it.

As with the weight watcher plus point system, fruit and non-starchy veggies are still 0 points when eaten alone, but now (unlike previously) they also count as 0 when added to a recipe. The exception is when they are blended or pureed into a drink.  As such,  1/2 cup of sliced strawberries added to a salad adds 0 smart points, but 1/2 cup of sliced strawberries blended into your smoothie would add 3 smart points!

Because my recipes are low in calories, added sugars and saturated fat – and I don’t skimp on belly-filling protein – they are a perfect fit for the new program!

Here are just a few smart swaps you will find in Eat What You Love Quick & Easy: (SP = Smart Points)

Reduced Fat Blueberry Muffin = 17 SP  | 100-Calorie Blueberry Bran Muffin (p. 52) = 3
Applebee’s Quesadilla Burger = 48 SP   | Quesadilla Burger (p. 129) = 9
Almost Bang Bang Shrimp = 26 Smart Points | Almost Bang Bang Shrimp  ( p. 252) = 4
Slice Sara Lee Blueberry Pie = 15 Points | Easiest-Ever Blueberry Pie (p. 290) = 5

Enjoy!
